A child should never be without a permanent, loving home. Unfortunately, this is the reality for more than 17,000 children and youth in Arizona’s foster care system. More than 20 years ago while volunteering as a child advocate, Laurie Kuzdal first became aware of the critical need for adoption and foster families. An adoptive mother herself, in 2006, Laurie founded A Friend to Families, and also served for many years as a confidential intermediary. If you are lucky enough to find one of her "orphan bears", please consider making a donation directly to the Arizona Children's Association at https://www.arizonachildrensassociation.org/donate.
Founded in 1912, the Arizona Children's Association is one of the oldest and largest not-for-profit child agencies in Arizona. Located in all 15 Arizona counties, they provide a variety of programs and services to meet the needs of more than 40,000 children, youth and families each year.
